Bull Blaster Pomade for Hair

Pomades used to be a forgotten product within the hair styling realm, with the term and style going out of fashion for many years. However, Pomade Hair is here to stay as more and more people are looking for that gel-like style again.

Our Bull Blaster Pomade is a water-based product, which gives it some significant advantages over the traditional formulation. As it avoids oil as an ingredient, it means that the product by itself will not add additional grease to your hair or scalp.

This water formula gives a natural look to your hair, unlike pomades that make it look weighed down and bristly. Bull Blaster Pomade lets you create old-fashioned hairstyles or slick you to the future with a brand new look.

What is a Pomade Haircut?

What hairstyles work best with this style of hair product? Be sure to ask your barber for one of these cuts!

The first one that comes to mind is the classic slick back from the 1950s, which has never truly gone out of fashion. Barbers have been able to sell a lot of hair products for men over the years with this short hairstyle. It creates a polished look with a medium hold.

What is pomade hair product also known for? Exuberant pompadours and high quiffs. Given the typical strength of a pomade, it allows hair to stand up much higher than other products allow.

Other pomade hairstyles include spikes, faux hawk, crew cut, etc. Of course, you don’t have to rock these characterful looks every day!

Does it work for curls? The ‘modern messy look’ is similar to how your hair looks when you get out of bed, aka bed head. Our water-based product will highlight the intentionally tousled and casual style when roughly applied throughout the hair.

Are All Pomades Water Based?

While our product is a water-based pomade, we cannot say the same for every pomade hair product available. Plenty of formulations, such as cream pomades and oil-based spreads, are on the market. Our pomade is made with water and is suitable for all hair types. It is vegan-friendly and responsibly made, just like all of our other hair styling products.

Can Women Use Hair Pomade?

Hair pomade might have a long lineage as a male-centric product associated with barbering culture and masculine hairstyles from yesteryear. Still, hair pomade for men is hair pomade for women. If you have a short or medium hairstyle, then Bull Blaster will work for you, irrespective of gender.

How to use Hair Pomade

Firstly, determine how you want to use the product. Are you getting straight out of the shower and want to style your hair quickly, or is your hair already dry and needs setting into place?

Getting Pomade Hair Straight Out of the Shower

Any top-rated product, like ours, can be used on wet hair, whether you’ve just gotten out of the bath or shower or been caught in the rain. Take enough product from the jar and apply it to wet hair as you wish, then use the hair dryer to set the style in place, styling the product with a comb while you dry your hair. Doing this will give you a shiny finish and make the hold even stronger, perfect if you’ll be out and about all day.

Achieving a Matte Finish

Using our water formula on dry hair can give you a matte or semi-matte finish, depending on your hair type. Again, use a comb to spread the product evenly and neatly throughout the hair. To get even more of a matte finish, why not accompany it with our Sea Salt Spray? That product helps prepare the hair styling and improves the general hair feel and condition.

The History of Pomade

As you may have noticed, pomade doesn’t sound like a typical English word. It’s borrowed from French and Italian, despite the product's early origins in Georgian-era England. While those recipes aren’t widely available, the early formulations from the roaring 1920s to 1940s included petroleum, lard, beeswax, and animal fats. This typically allowed men of the time to get the combover style, which was all the rage back in that era.

Since then, the primary ingredients have shifted to wax, water, and others. Wax-based products were incredibly popular in the 1950s when Elvis Presley was in the popular music charts, and he was also slicking his hair back with similar products. The King was known for his distinctive hairstyles, most notably his pompadour hair.

Comparisons to Gel, Wax and Other Products?

Men’s hair products and women’s hair products come in all shapes and sizes. There is certainly no shortage of options; the styling product range has plenty of choices! Why choose a pomade hair product over any other?

Reliability

Contemporary gels for hair can be slick, but beware of the greasy look and potential damage if overused. Excessive application can weigh down hair, especially finer strands, leading to an unnatural or undesirable style.

Performance

Some barbers use beeswax and wax-based products for slicked-back hair. While these have a rich history, they can build up, causing damage and making them hard to wash out. They can also clog pores and strip natural moisture.

Scalability

Hair putty, a hybrid of clay and paste, offers a strong hold with a less shiny finish compared to traditional pomade, making it a versatile styling option.

Scalability

Growth capability is a system's ability to scale and adapt, meeting increasing demands and evolving needs for long-term success.
